There are several ways to earn money by playing games.
The most easy way would be through online platforms where you can play skill games against others for real money.
There are several platforms which offer this kind of games (I will come to that later). Players on these platforms sometimes make serious money playing on these platforms. An example of how it works:
  1. You deposit money to your account;
  2. You choose to play a certain game with an entry fee (for example $1). The platform matches you against an other player (who also puts in $1);
  3. When you beat your opponent you receive the prizepot of $2. (the online platforms usually take a small fee from this prizepot);
  4. You can now withdraw your winnings to your bankaccount

    This new platform just started and gives away free cash prizes to its players. It offers games such as Pool, Color Pin and Tower stack and is available for mobile, PC and tablet.

    You can practice the games with the so called ‘EazeCoins’, to make sure you know how to play when you play with real money.

    They currently are the cheapest compared to other platforms with a service cost of 15% of the entry fees. 10% of their revenues is going to charities chosen by the players, which seems pretty cool.
  2. Gameduell 
    Gameduell is a platform which exists since 2003 and offers a huge amount of games. You can play practice the games for ‘fake’ money, and when you are ready you are able to become a ‘money’ player. This will allow you to play games against others for real money.

    They currently only have a website usable for PC.

    They take 25% service cost per entry fee.
  3. Skillz
    This platform has seperate apps for each game. You can view the apps on their website and download the ones you like, to play them against others for money. They focus on mobile (IOS) only.

    They charge $0,65 entry fee per game (around 25%).
